Ridgeview Greens Golf Club (Minto)

Ridgeview Greens is located halfway between the communities of Chipman and Minto and is the result of the vision and initiative of owner Angelo DiCarlo. He bought 50 acres of farm land in 1960 on highway 10 at Hardwood Ridge, and, with the assistance of Ronald Downey of Saint John, designed and built the narrow nine hole course, opening in 1962.

This course is cleverly designed, with 11 greens and 12 tees that create diversity and interest over two rounds (six Par 4's, three Par 3's each) of the nine hole layout. In 1992, three greens were rebuilt by Jeff Fuller of Sussex, including the wickedly undulating third. A new tee was built deep in the woods on number 7/16 thus making #7 the longest hole on the course, a very challenging, narrow passage at 365 yards ending with one of the largest sandtraps (Jaws) on the course in front of this green.

Other highlights on this enjoyable, pine tree-lined tour include the tricky 8/17 downhill Par 4 that traverses two large ponds, and the long dogleg number 6/15 orchard to a large elevated green, and number 5/14 an uphill challenging Par 3, also 2/11 with the obstacle trees on number 2 green deep in the woods. A new clubhouse was built in 1975 replacing a smaller one destroyed by fire two years earlier.
